| Description | In 1976, Blake Shelton was born in Ada, Oklahoma. The thirty-nine-year-old country music star started out performing in honky-tonk bars and local country music shows. His turning point came when Mae Boren Axton, a songwriter, visited his town. Mae advised Blake to bring his guitar to Nashville, and he packed his bags as soon as he graduated high school. The young artist released his first album, Blake Shelton, in 2001, followed by The Dreamer. |
