Number one is to market something you know about. One often given piece of advice is to write about subjects you know about already.
This advice also applies to online marketing and affiliate marketing in particular. Ok, so do yourself a favor and apply that to the product(s) you'll be marketing.
Just as an example, if you're really into beauty products you can be an affiliate for Avon, or Mary Kay, or you can promote anyone's line of beauty products.
